We've innovated care delivery to fit your lifestyle

Staying healthy is only hard when getting care is a hassle. The Kaiser Permanente integrated system makes care access convenient for our members. There are no barriers between them and their doctors, so members control how they get care. Online, phone,1 video, in-person — whatever fits their needs. Rather than disrupt their whole day, our members can schedule a video visit by phone. Or for immediate attention, visit our Urgent Care and avoid the wait in the ER. This is quality care by design.

You choose how, when, and where you get care

Here’s some of our care access options — most right from your phone:

Video visits with a doctor by phone, computer or tablet1

24/7 nurse advice line

Get lab results and set medication reminders with the KP app2

Order prescriptions online for home delivery3

Remote monitoring

We performed 480,000+ video visits in 2022

Kaiser Permanente has been a trailblazer in the area of virtual care. We’ve offered video visits since 2013, so you can trust our experience with this form of care delivery.1

All in one place, all in one trip

Other health plans will have you lose a whole day driving back and forth across town for care services.

With PPOs, seeing your doctor, getting a lab test, and picking up medication could mean three separate trips, which means a longer wait for the treatment you need. Not us. Most of our medical centers feature physician, lab, pharmacy, diagnostics — even Urgent Care and specialists — all in one building.3

What you get with KP

Less travel. Less waiting. Less spending.

Our all-in-one medical facilities deliver care quicker, and you don’t pay extra for transportation, babysitters, or parking.

Urgent Care and Advanced Urgent Care

We’re a more convenient alternative to the ER, with lower patient volume for shorter wait times.

In our system, when you need immediate, non-life-threatening care you don’t have to waste hours in an emergency room. Permanente physicians exclusively treat Kaiser Permanente members, so there’s less people waiting to be seen in in our Urgent Care and Advanced Urgent Care centers compared to the ER. Many offer care that would require a hospital stay, with multiple specialties and 24/7 laboratory, diagnostics, and pharmacy on site. So, you get in, get the tests and treatment you need, and go home.
